When a car accident left him with a concussion, whiplash, fractured ribs and enough damage in his spine to need back surgery, he knew he could regain his abilities at the Y. He worked with Y Wellness coaches to change the way he exercises and safely move his body. The variety of offerings allow him to switch to water aerobics when his knee flares up or yoga when he needs to stretch sore muscles.
“My health is the most important thing I have,” he says. “I’m in my mid-70s and each year my health becomes more important to me and, as my body changes, requires different skills and specialty classes to be the best I can be.”
